Garmin 3D flyover

Make a 3D flyover video from your Garmin ride

Recorded your ride on a Garmin watch or bike computer? Export the activity as a FIT or GPX file from Garmin Connect, upload it to Flyover, and watch the route fly over a 3D terrain map. Then export it as an MP4. Rides synced from Garmin Connect to your TrainCraft account also appear in the activity list after you sign in.

What a Garmin file brings to the map

The GPS track draws the route over 3D terrain with route progress and an elevation panel. A FIT file from a Garmin device can also carry heart rate, power or cadence; the panels show those values only when the file includes them.

A finished scene sequence from one route

For activity recaps and route previews, Auto Story uses route shape, climbs, descents, and supported activity moments to produce an ordered sequence you can review scene by scene and edit in the same Studio.

FIT

In a web browser, sign in to Garmin Connect, open Activities > All Activities and select the ride. Select the gear icon in the top right corner and choose Export File (the original FIT file) or Export to GPX. Unzip the download if it arrives as a ZIP.

FAQ

Which Garmin files can I use?

FIT, GPX and TCX files with a usable GPS track. An indoor activity without GPS coordinates cannot draw a route.

Do I have to export a file, or can I use my synced Garmin rides?

Either works. Upload an exported file, or connect Garmin to your TrainCraft account and sign in: synced rides that include a GPS track appear in the activity list in Flyover.

Is there a Garmin 3D flyover app, and is it free?

Flyover is a browser tool from TrainCraft, not a Garmin app or a Garmin Connect feature, so there is nothing to install. The free export is 720p with stylized terrain and a TrainCraft watermark; 1080p, 1440p, satellite imagery or an export without the watermark need a paid export.

Can I see my Garmin ride on a 3D map?

Yes. The route is drawn over 3D terrain with an elevation panel, and you can choose camera modes such as follow, drone and orbit.

Are Garmin and TrainCraft affiliated?

No. Garmin and Garmin Connect are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries. TrainCraft is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Garmin.
